• Pardon the dust while the boys rebuild the site.

The board will be in a state of disarray as I get things sorted out, for a little while at least.

The new incarnation is using Xenforo as the system software. It is much like what we are used to, with a few differences. I will see about making a FAQ to help point out the differences for the members.

One IMPORTANT difference for all of us old timers is that the 'mail' system is replaced with what are called 'conversations'/

There is no 'Inbox' or 'Out box' or 'Sent' folders anymore.

Think of Conversations as private 'threads' or topics that don't exist in a forum, that you start with another member. NOTE: Conversations can include more than one member if you or someone else in the conversaion, likes.
Takes a little getting used to but I am sure you all can get a hang of it.

Only a slightly modified default default Xenforo style is available for now. Once the new SAG style is ready it will be available.

All existing users should be able to login with their usernames and passwords once the site goes up.

If anyone has difficulties logging in please contact me at sixthvanguard@gmail.com.

Thank you for your support and patience. I know it has been a loooong road.

“Soul Patrol”-LRRPs-Extraction!

Hello friends
Here is something i did recently.Inspired by Mr. Ed Emaunel's stark, gripping and compelling memoir on his Vietnam experience. I decided to make a 1/6th diorama based on one of his LRP/LRRP teams in Vietnam, as described in his book. I took a crash course in all things Vietnam and more specifically on the LRPs/LRRPs. I bought half a dozen books on ’Nam related US infantry equipment and spent the better part of a month reading up and learning as much as possible. The internet was also important in acquiring valuable information. The figures are modelled loosely on one of Mr. Emanuel's patrols, while the 'pig' gunner is a more accurate representation of Mr. Emanuel. I wanted to give the figures a sense of individuality and thus used different knives/sheaths for all of them (yes..LuRPS used equipment from the other Spec Ops services).
Well here is..the

I've literally just drooled over these pics for the last week and my god what an absolute masterpiece!
Superb work my friend!

Words fail me. Being a Navy Medic (Corpsman), I can feel the urgency of these guys waiting for the chopper to do the extraction, and being afraid, as many were, alas, that it wouldn't quite make it in time. That scenario is etched into every face, with each character's own thoughts and anxieties in stark detail. The equipment and the rest of the kit, individualized to each man, is superb. I am literally crying on my keyboard as I write this. It's too soon for me not to ...

Well done, Miguel!

The figures are amazingly detailed. You've captured a moment in time with their poses and the base is nicely done as well.

Great job!

Absolutely top tier work. If these figures were shot out doors in natural light you could fool anybody . The flocking you did to create real looking hair is really effective. I could go on and on. But I'd rather spend some more time just looking. Beautiful Miguel.

Simply fantastic art. So many customized pieces, including real looking canvas OCIE. Simply fantastic...and all the headsculpts, hands, outstanding job! As others have noted the emotion, fluidity of movement and action are all conveyed expertly. Work I can only dream of!

This is by far one of the best dios I have seen. Great work on the figures. Your research really paid off.
