• Pardon the dust while the boys rebuild the site.

The board will be in a state of disarray as I get things sorted out, for a little while at least.

The new incarnation is using Xenforo as the system software. It is much like what we are used to, with a few differences. I will see about making a FAQ to help point out the differences for the members.

One IMPORTANT difference for all of us old timers is that the 'mail' system is replaced with what are called 'conversations'/

There is no 'Inbox' or 'Out box' or 'Sent' folders anymore.

Think of Conversations as private 'threads' or topics that don't exist in a forum, that you start with another member. NOTE: Conversations can include more than one member if you or someone else in the conversaion, likes.
Takes a little getting used to but I am sure you all can get a hang of it.

Only a slightly modified default default Xenforo style is available for now. Once the new SAG style is ready it will be available.

All existing users should be able to login with their usernames and passwords once the site goes up.

If anyone has difficulties logging in please contact me at sixthvanguard@gmail.com.

Thank you for your support and patience. I know it has been a loooong road.

Hi. i need help to find information about what the "all america divison" did under market garden.Everything is useful/mission/wich german divison they "battled" with/DC(drop zone).
Why i wounder is beacuse i am "gonna" set up a market garden dio and it allways the 101 (506) you see if there is any airborne dio :@
82 is forgotten in the biggest airborne mission in the worldshistory

There are a bunch of online sites you can look at and you can find some books. I'll try and find some links later for you if you can't find any. If I'm not mistaken, the 82nd was to secure and hold key bridges until relieved by British Amor collums. I read the book "The Road to Arnhem" (I think) Donald Burggett and it's pretty good.

82

the 82nd aib fought at nijmegen bridge, and if you watch a bridge too far yiu can see there famous river crossing under enemy fire, glad to see someone actually doing an 82nd fig for once

yes i am really "sick" of the 506 thing just for band of brothers,,,(don´t take me wrong i love that program and the figures people do here) but sometimes its to mutch and the helmetdecals are expensive luxury:P(if you don´t paint them yourself)

The 82nd Ariborne Division was commanded by Brig-Gen James Gavin. The 82nd was tasked with capture of Nijmegan bridge over the river Waal and the Grave bridge over the Maas. If you want a blow by blow account of Market garden and the 82nd's part in it, read A Bridge Too Far by Cornelius Ryan. There are several other books, autobigraphies and unit histories tied the Division. It's better than anything on the internet.
