• Pardon the dust while the boys rebuild the site.

The board will be in a state of disarray as I get things sorted out, for a little while at least.

The new incarnation is using Xenforo as the system software. It is much like what we are used to, with a few differences. I will see about making a FAQ to help point out the differences for the members.

One IMPORTANT difference for all of us old timers is that the 'mail' system is replaced with what are called 'conversations'/

There is no 'Inbox' or 'Out box' or 'Sent' folders anymore.

Think of Conversations as private 'threads' or topics that don't exist in a forum, that you start with another member. NOTE: Conversations can include more than one member if you or someone else in the conversaion, likes.
Takes a little getting used to but I am sure you all can get a hang of it.

Only a slightly modified default default Xenforo style is available for now. Once the new SAG style is ready it will be available.

All existing users should be able to login with their usernames and passwords once the site goes up.

If anyone has difficulties logging in please contact me at sixthvanguard@gmail.com.

Thank you for your support and patience. I know it has been a loooong road.

Changing DML hands to fit DiD ball sockects

I have swapped DML hands on DiD bodies by drilling into the forearm and just shoving the DML hands in the holes but they do not give you much range and are pretty tight or too loose. I came up with this idea the other day while picking up 6mm Airsoft pellets from the back yard.

I take the 6mm pellet drill a hole thru the middle I start with a small drill and work up to a metric drill that is a shade smaller than 1/8th" Sorry I can't read the size on the bit. I then stick the DML post thru the pellet and superglue it then cut it almost flush with the other back of the pellet. I heat the end up a little and blend it in for a little better bond. The hands pop right into the DiD socket and you get a better swap. I might try and leave a little space between the hand and the pellet so you can have a bit more range with the wrist joint.

It might be possible to put ball joints on a DML forearm. In R/C Modeling there are ball and socket made for control rods. I'll have to stop by the hobby shop and see what might fit.

John I think you are talking about ball links. The female piece which the ball snaps into are mostly nylon and hard to get a glue to bond to them but you do have a good idea well worth at trying it out
