• Pardon the dust while the boys rebuild the site.

The board will be in a state of disarray as I get things sorted out, for a little while at least.

The new incarnation is using Xenforo as the system software. It is much like what we are used to, with a few differences. I will see about making a FAQ to help point out the differences for the members.

One IMPORTANT difference for all of us old timers is that the 'mail' system is replaced with what are called 'conversations'/

There is no 'Inbox' or 'Out box' or 'Sent' folders anymore.

Think of Conversations as private 'threads' or topics that don't exist in a forum, that you start with another member. NOTE: Conversations can include more than one member if you or someone else in the conversaion, likes.
Takes a little getting used to but I am sure you all can get a hang of it.

Only a slightly modified default default Xenforo style is available for now. Once the new SAG style is ready it will be available.

All existing users should be able to login with their usernames and passwords once the site goes up.

If anyone has difficulties logging in please contact me at sixthvanguard@gmail.com.

Thank you for your support and patience. I know it has been a loooong road.

Nice troops! I'm always a fan of the GB anoraks.
HI,
GLAD YOU LIKE THEM, IT SURE TOOK FOREVER TO GATHER ALL THE PIECES TOGETHER TO BUILD THEM.
I'M A FAN OF THE ANORAKS TO. I EVEN HAVE A REPRO ONE I WEAR IN WINTER,LOL. BEEN LOOKING FOR SOME ALL WHITE ONES FOR MY HIGH ALPINE SCOUT UNIT.
ANYWAY, THANKS AGAIN FOR THE FEEDBACK.

Nice group of Jagers, one small accuracy note, in 1940 they hadn't started using that camo pattern as of yet, the helmet cover and winter over suite appear to be of the "marsh" pattern which is a late war camo you would have started seeing in 1944.

LEAVE IT TO ME TO MESS SOMETHING UP, LOL.
I REALLY LIKED THAT FIGURE TOO. I ACTUALLY WANTED TO USE A SPLINTER CAMO BUT COULDN'T FIND ANY.
I'M AMAZED THEY HAD THE TIME TO COME UP WITH NEW CAMO PATTERNS THAT LATE IN THE WAR. YOU'D THINK THEY WOULD BE THINKING OF OTHER THINGS TO WIN THE WAR BESIDES CAMO PATTERNS LOL.
ANYWAY, THANKS FOR THE FEEDBACK, I ALWAYS LIKE TO LEARN SOMETHING NEW,
DANCINGHORSE

Also good to see some of DML's earlier figures, accessories and such on SAG, takes me back to the time when the company began to rule the 1/6th scale WW2 world. Thanks for sharing, Steve

HI STEVE,
DRAGON IS ALMOST ALL YOU'LL SEE WHEN I POST FIGURES. I FEEL IN LOVE WITH DRAGON IN 2000 AND NOTHING WILL TAKE THEIR PLACE IN MY HEART! LOL
WISH THEY WOULD START MAKING 1/6 AGAIN. THEY WERE GREAT LOOKING AND GREAT VALUE. NO WAY I'M PAYING 200.00 + FOR ONE FIGURE. :)

Concur 'Dancinghorse', I posted a thread a few years ago regarding the 20th Anniversary of the DML figure that kicked-off the habit...er...hobby for me, "Hans" the original 1999 release of a Wehrmacht NCO circa Barbarossa, the first in what I call the "Barbarossa four" due to Volstad's famous artwork and the 1/35th DML model set that featured the four in kit form. His art also the basis for DML's early releases; the boxes themselves featuring his artistry complementing the figures contained within very nicely. I'm currently in the process of digging-out the other three figures ("Klaus", "Erich" and "Heinrich") in order to do an update to my "Hans" post now that it's been 25 years (where'd those five years go?) and set them up as per his artwork...watch this space.

Though I've many figures from other such companies, DML is my main go-to when it comes to the figures I utilise in my annual model projects. Their far-ranging head sculpts and body types (which like their clothing and equipment, evolved over time in terms of materials used and pose-ability) and their accessory range allows me the opportunity to create the excessive number of figures I need to fill-out the several or more vignettes I make to meet the narrative of the story I'm hoping to convey onto the visitor in a standardised way though I do stray on occasion if the heads or uniform/equipment parts are better in-detail to convey a particular action that DML can't deliver.

Keep up the fine DML work

Steve
