My American Expeditionary Forces doughboy for the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I: November 11th, 1918
I would have posted him on the 11th, but I was marking the occasion with a whole row of French 75s, Casablanca style:

Photos are from the SSCC's November 2018 club meeting on 7 November. I tried like mad to finish this guy for our club meeting and just ran out of energy and time with my work schedule. Most of this figure is from Battle Gear Toys - meaning he is expensive - and regrettably there are some sizing issues with some of the items I bought from BGT to kit this guy up.
I've been interested in WWI for a while now - but really decided I needed to start on a figure or two in earnest after watching American Experience documentary The Great War on PBS in April of 2017. The latest Gatsby movie helped as well... but that's another thread for another time.
Finally, there's really a lot that could be done despite the scarcity of the DiD and Sideshow figures - if one knows how to scrounge and modify some things.
Without further ado, an AEF rifleman on the Western Front:
Probably the thing I'm most proud of on this kitbash thus far:
A modified DML RTV canteen - making it the early M-1910 canteen with the aluminum dome cap.
