Panzer I aufs B

Hi everybody!!

This is my last work, Ive just finished this one. Is a Panzer I aufs B
it is a all Scratchbuil work, it took the last 6 months to be made, a lot of work, a lot of research but a lot of fun!!
All the work is a lot simple, it isn't so realistic as the last works here on the group, I simplified a lot of parts, made them a bit more crude but as whole piece it satisfied me.
all the parts where made by me, the track links are from the panzerwerk. The body, tower and most of the little parts are made of PVC plastic. The wheels, idler, sprocket and other parts where made by me but copied in resin.

A problem I found was the gun models. My research found that the panzer I used MG18 guns, no MG34 references where found, but there are no MG18 in 1/6, and I couldn't make them, but, since the only part visible is the gum barrel, and since there are a visual similarity of the MG18 barrel with the MG34 barrel, I used a Dragon MG34, I hope it isn't a Big historical error.

I have made this Panzer I because I love very much this tank, the shape, the parts, the aesthetic of the tower, the way they made wheel system, the horizontal bar in front of the wheel system, the entire tank is to much beautiful. the painting and insignia patterns are from the Poland invasion period of 1939, and this pattern where chose simply because I like very much this time of the war and the very unusual yellow cross, that was chosen as a low visibility mark but was found it was to much flashy and sometimes covered in mud. it is a HQ vehicle of the 5 Panzer Division, it shows the White 2 digit number (platoon and Vehicle Nunber), yellow crosses with white outline, and yellow and black rhomboid bar. the insignia mark where taken from the Squadron Signal book "Panzer Colors II", the book is Highly recommended, it helped me a lot o times and answered a lot of questions, besides having brought me several references.
the figures where not finished, Im in the process of finishing them rsrs

I hope everybody like
any complement, comment, review, correction will be welcome
and thanks a lot to all the group members!!
enjoy the photos

Re: Panzer I aufs B

Excellent job - I didn't realize it was a scratch build till I saw the white raw pieces. Really nice job in that case! Perfect weathering and painting. Such a tiny little vehicle. I cannot imagine going to war in something like that. Nice project.

Everything looks great!

Good morning!
That is a beautiful static build of the tank. Your scratch building skillset is extremely far along! The cat photo bombs are priceless. ;o) Do you have any plans to make this fine piece of armor mobile?
regards!

Re: Panzer I aufs B

That is superb work, my hat's off to you on the fact you scratch-built the whole tank. Never been a big fan of Germany's early-war tanks however seeing your work (and the angles of the photography) has provided new found respect for the Panzer I. Thanks for sharing, Steve

Re: Panzer I aufs B

thank you everybody !!!
I am really glad with all the kind words!!

redball thank you very much, cats are always making fun of us, this is just a bit of a revenge hehehe

The_Dutchman thank you a lot !!

Pangaea95 thank you, I've tried mi beast, skipped i bit here and there, but tried to reach the level of excellence of the group

Ostfront43 thank you very much, the Planning and research are one of the most important and fun parts, I'm a history teacher and as part of the job I cant leave it aside hehehe
and in the end, with no planning and research there would be no building and painting skills enough to make a good historical piece like the ones here in the SAG

tankfan0720 thank you bob, is funny cause this tank is unbelievably small,
I think it fits in the opel bucket so small that it is LOL, and the armor was so thin that a submachin gun could cause big troubles! I don't know if I would have the guts too

egonzinc thank you a lot, the track links I bout from Panzerwerk a looong time a go, hard to find this days, I wouldn't know where to find

Kev Longino thank you a lot !!

PainlessWolf thank you, unfortunately I would like very much to make it an RC model, but, now that is all assembled there is no way to do it. I need to plan for the next one, and I don't know much about how to motorize a tank, any help, web links or stores are very welcome !!!

Hammer's Africaners thank you very much !!

armorpax thank you very much Dave!!

Hammer Six thank you a lot !!

SteveKrieg, thank you very much Steve, the Panzer I is a very underestimated tank, a very tine tank but a very beautiful tine one haha
since very young the German engineering and design impressed me, from the most bizarre ones to the more classics, but besides what I already said there are two more reasons for me to make this model, the first,
it is not a common model in the 1/6 world, the second, hes size is very convenient hahahah space to keep them are always a problem!

thank you all again !!!
sorry for mi bad english
and regard from Brazil !!

ate mais pessoal

Re: Panzer I aufs B

Excellent work on the tank! It's truly amazing!

The crewmen in greatcoats are an excellent touch! A very early-war look for sure! You should try to find another Panzer beret though for the crewman with the side cap, though.

Loved the cat photos!

Well done!
