DML U.S. 1/4 ton 4X4 truck GP "Jeep"

Hello all,

Since I'm new here, I wanted to share some pictures of my very first 1:6 build. Normally I build 1:35 vehicles, but I wanted something different! I had some contact with plane_mc and since then we became more or less friends. Infected by his magnifescent build of his Jeep, he encouraged me to post some pictures as well....I have to warn you, my scratch-building abilities are very low (....Almost not existing...LOL0 but I've got to start somewhere.

Here's what I've done so far:

All comments and tips are very welcome, Grtz, John.

Looking good John, thanks for posting. Can't wait to see what details you add to your jeep.

Re: DML U.S. 1/4 ton 4X4 truck GP "Jeep"

Thanks for the kind words, the brass bolts do add some extra to the model and I kinda like to work with this stuff....I know that after the paintwork not much is left of ot, but hey: I know it's there...LOL
For the very large seams (like those in the chassis) I use two component car filler. for the normal seams Uncle Tamiya's putty and for the small ones Mr. Surfacer 500.
For the small weld seams on the muffler I used Evergreen 0.5mm rod softened in liquid glue.

Grtz and thanks for looking, John.
