LSSR Russian River Crossing Photoshoot (More Photos)

MARCH 1945
An Isolated German Town

The Russians Attack Forward from the Tree Line

The Bridge is Blown, Lines Engulfed in Chaos

Soviet Gunners Rake to oppisite Bank

Advance Teams Take to the water

The Reach the Far Bank, In an Attempt to Set Up a Bridge Head

Russian Rafts and stolen Boats make an attempt to the other bank

The German Guns Gun Obliterates many

Finally some boats make it across on the German Left Flank

The Russians Advance, hitting the SS Flank Hard

The Germans Throw Everything they have to stop the advance

Nothing Seems enough, A Bridge Head Has been established, even more Soviets begin to cross.

Hope Yall enjoy the photos as much as we did shooting them...

The river was 20' X 2' x 6', dug painstakingly by several of our members, the really are behind the sucess of this, my hats off to them.

Several other members are on this board, and I hope they can show their pictures too...

I will try to find some more photos a little later and get them loaded. I seemed to have missed a few scenes in the dio on this go around.

For thoes that dont know, the LSSR is the Lone Star Scale Raiders group in the Dallas/Fortworth Area. Throughout the cooler months of the year, we get together to put on a 1/6th dio/ photoshoot. I personally Am from North West of Houston, which is a 4.5 hour drive to the photoshoot, So anyone, from Texas, Arkansas, Olahoma, or any other distance are more than welcome to come the the dios.

Some more photos of past photoshoots can be found at http://creative-diversions.com

Really outstanding
Great to see a lot of the newer stuff in action.
I really love the shot of the Russian wading troops moving down the embankment to get into the river, very nice posing.

Its been awhile since Ive seen any new dios from LSSR. They always have awesome layouts and setups. This may be the best one I ever seen from them yet. The Photos arte Great as well as the layout with the river.
And as Usual they have tons of cool buildings, Trees, Boats, You name it!
This dio Shoot has it All! I been looking at the fantastic explosion photo for a long time, and now that Ive looked at it multiple times, I think the explostion is made out of cotton!? Cotton posed on some kind of supports(Sticks, Wires) maybe not, maybe it's a real explosion! Eitherway it looks great!

Very Nice work, but then again Ive come to expect nothing less from LLSR.

Fall Out!

I think you are right BRO, and it does look great, but now I can't get the picture of what that must look like sitting on a kitchen table out of my head :-p Taken out of context I wonder what people must think when they see something like that.

I love doing these large photoshoots, and looking at em too. There are so many different battles and events that can be modeled this way, essepcially with all the new stuff out, and Im real intrested in what everyone else will be doing in the recent future.

The explosion is indeed cotton balls, wire frame, and styrafoam base, it looks great in the photos though. The idea came from a diorama that had one at a convention a few years back.

Unfortunatly, I missed alot of god shots from the right flank of the Germans, hoping someone else can post them.

Here are a few more photos:

A Kett and the Pupchen that Karkow showed on this forum a while back, the one with the DID Newbel wheels.

The Clock Tower that Randal showed earlier, in the dio.

A in the works shot:

Some other photos:

Wow - that's just awesome! You guys sure must have fun. It's also neat to see the "set-up" shots. All in all, a great bunch of photos of some neat figs and equipment. Sure looks good when there are realistic numbers of things.

Maybe if they had figured this out in 2006. However since others who are bored and want to bring this thread up, maybe it will be considered.

I am glad you enjoy the necro posts Ken , and I appreciate your enthusiasm, and you can continue to enjoy the many old threads without the need to drag them back to the front page pushing newer posts off .

Re: LSSR Russian River Crossing Photoshoot (More Photos)

Not sure how I feel about the upswing in older posts being brought back to life but since the boards are a tad slow as of late I don't see the harm. I have gotten a kick out of seeing some of others older work and it brought back some good memories as well. Seems like the 1/6 WWII boards are really down and if this is a way of keeping dialogue going here than that is cool with me. Heck anytime I get a chance to see Egons work that is a good day tater.
