Battle gear toys makes them. Though I see they are out of stock right now. Check their site and drop them an e-mail.
I've heard One Sixth Unique were really good.
Search around and you'll most likely find something.
I know what you mean about e-bay, it can be a frustration sometimes.

OSU are pretty decent, but I really do not care for the seam that runs around the crown of it. Rather distracting in a way, at least to me.

I prefer the type made by Banjoman on e-bay. I know you said you would prefer not to go that route Steve, but I have had nothing but positive experiences with him via e-bay. Actually, he has changed his name and now goes by quartermaster toys or such. You can view his berets here :

Hope this helps, Mike

Banjoman's berets are the best. Same for the glengarry.

Not sure, but if you are looking for a black panzer beret, I believe newline is producing one now that's supposed to be pretty decent.

Maybe you could contact Howard , aka banjoman, directly, and purchase some that way. I have used one of his Berets for my Vietnam era Riverine bashes, and it worked out pretty well too.

Other than that, since you can't use e-bay, I know of no other than the OSU.
