Eddie Parker HS

I just received a loose Eddie Parker I had ordered a few days ago from TSB. I got this guy because I wanted to use him for a US W.W.II Tanker in my M7 but the haircut looks way too modern it looks like it's spiked and feathered I don't think they did that in the 40s. I noticed a lot of guys thought he looked like Eastwood, I thought he looked more like Travolta when he stared in Broken Arrow but now that I have him in hand I really can't say he looks like anyone. Either way it's a great HS but I think he's going to have to be a modern figure in my collection rather than a W.W.II US tanker. I hope someone reapints this HS soon I would love to see it with a more period haircut too.

I don't know John. I think it looks pretty good, especially for late war figures (which to me means d-day plus).

USMCWayne's shots of Parker look great, IMHO.

I'd have to look through some of my Mom's old photo albums, but I am sure there are wartime pictures of GI's with similar haircuts. I know her wartime hubby looked very similar ni some pics.

that is a period GI cut that has grown out I don't think it looks too modern it just looks like he's been in the field a while and hasn't had a haircut

I think he looks great (gunna need to buy this guy). he does look to have Travolta's mouth and Eastwood's forhead and brows..

As for the hair.... If I shave my head my hair will look that way in about 2 months.

That one guy with the sideburns I would almost think is a Vietnam era haircut, with the sideburns and all.

But then, the latest DiD Napolionic figure looks like Tom Jones to me, wicked sixties perm on that guy

I love the HS but it think I could use it better as a modern figure. I see the long messy hair on soldiers that are in need of haircuts but I still think Eddie's got more of a spiked gelled hair look.
It looks just like the haircut Travolta had in Broken Arrow. That's why I thought he looked more like JT than Clint, Clints hair was a lot higher in the front. Then you have the dimple if the face was a little bit heavier it would have been a dead ringer for JT. It's no big deal I could jam a helmet over his head but I really want to do him up modern. I haven't done a modern figure in over a year. LOL

Well, John - he could pass for a modern figure. Maybe a Sailor or an Airman, or a SWAT figure, or a western European soldier. But I'm with the WWII in need of a haircut crowd. This would have been particularly true if he had just crossed half the pacific on a WWII troop ship.

He has a bit of a Robert Patrick look as well (T-2, X-files, The unit, etc). At least Robert patrick back in his younger days.

Eddie got the "Just for Men" dark brown hair treatment. LOL I repainted his hair with several colors starting with black base coat then lightened up burnt umber three times to get the varying shades. It doesn't show well in the pics. I can repaint hair pretty good, faces I am not good at so I left it as is.

Thanks Don, I just got a Bobby Dalton loose that I'll use for my tanker in place of Eddie. He has longer hair but it's more on the messy side like the guy with the book in Reese's pics. This is one the figure hair is painted in two colors a darker base and lighter drybrushed over it. I still think I am going to change the color of his hair as well. I like the darker look over the blonde. I'll need to go thru my box for a few more guys for the crew. I would like to find a Deke Damato loose. I think he has a great HS.
