British RTO in the ETO

Haven't posted any pic's in eons now, had day off today so I wanted to show off one of my latest bashes. This is my British RTO from Commando No.4 In the ETO circa fall 1944. A mixture of DML and BBI gear from the parts bin.

This is the fifth member of my commando group, and although not based off of any particular reference, I think he looks kinda cool. Comments and info more than welcome, TIA

Nice bash Randy - always cool to see Brits
One wee thing , No 4 Commando was an Army commando unit and your guy has a Royal Marine beret badge , No 4 would wear plain green berets.

Would you believe that this is the only beret I had with the badge on it so I used it for the pic LOL Wasn't sure about the insignia, much appreciate the input Kev, will be removing the badge so they all match now, one less piece of insignia to worry about. Appreciate the comments guys

Its quite a smashing looking chap. He's just the ticket to get Jerry running away from the barrage he'll call in.

My only two suggestions would be to switch out the windproff trousers for the standard BD and give him a Thompson since he's a radio op. (and I second the fact on the beret badge)

I love your Commando's, keep them coming!

Thanks guys, Alex, I used the trouser as I didn't have any BD's, he was created from spare parts from the bin, was intending them to be just camo pants(did they make any in dennison?), appreciate the input though, will have to keep an eye out for a set of BD's, I do have a sten I can give gim though

who made the radio?
They radio set was produced some years ago by BBI, a very cool detailed piece, truly wish BBI had continued with their WW2 line of figs as they had some great offerings. I believe the radio set came with the Douglas Cadwell(sp?) Figure. Thanks again guys

Cool Randy. Glad to see you finding the time to do some bashing.

On the beret issue, iirc, the Army CDO's would often wear their parent regiments insignia on the berets. I might be mistaken, as it has been awhile since I have touched or researched anything.

Way to get out there and post, Randy. Good looking Brit - we can always use more Brits - they're so under represented!
