Paint question??

I usually use primer from a spray can for my vehicles and then do a topcoat with the airbrush. But I'm working on a vehicle with LOTS of detail and I know I won't be able to prime with a spraycan without getting lots of runs. Can anyone suggest a primer I can run through an airbrush?

You could also try decanting the primer in a jar then transfer it to you airbrush. Just a thought.

I have always used spray primer and just light and easy. Don't try to do it in one pass. No runs and the detail shows through.

Hi Fred, When I saw that you had replied, I figured you would want to know whats up.
Well, I've finally gotten around to the Krupp Protze kfz 69. It's coming along slow but sure. I purchased the cab and back chassis from Mardon through Keith and have finished scratchbuilding the back and am now detailing the front. Then the paint job.

I painted my Taowan Kfz. 70 Protze in Model Master's Panzer Grey and went through about six cans... Then Cory suggested to me that I should have primed the thing first... Go figure. So you don't want painting advice from me.

Again - can't wait to see it!

Fred, its for the PAK 35/36.
I've got a couple more weeks work and we also have vacation thrown in, then I'll paint and detail the Dragon Pak so I'm still a ways off.

I saw you in almost every picture. When I talked with Cory he said he was there but you couldn't prove it by the photos.

That is quite an accurate statement from Josh... Took a few months off from the hobby after our Ft. Thomas show last November. Then put together an early war Soviet tank crew for a T-34. Then finally received my repaired Soldier Story Zundapp single so I kitbashed an early war motorcycle reconaissance Unteroffizier for it. He turned out quite nicely. Recently I did the mid-war Heer mortar team (posted in the GP section here) and an early war cavalry Wachtmeister - still kind of a WIP figure. Now I am on a US themed project of the utmost secrecy.

I have been bringing projects to the SSCC club meetings but have not really posted anything on the boards. Most of the projects can be seen in our .pdf newsletters on the club site (link in my signature).

I can't wait to see your Kfz. 69 Protze though, Scott. I can only imagine how amazing it will turn out!

that Model Masters panzer gray is Sooo awesome it matches exactly to the brush on color, great for touch ups!
