Moving out

Here are some pics we took in my back yard last night. I am working on some others but I still haven't gotten the hang of my new Nikon and a lot didn't come out very good. I should have used both my Fuji and Nikon and used the best from the two.

Both pics have been aged with CS4 with an addon program for the aging the backgrounds were added because my yard is tiny and the wall and fence just do not make for good pics.

Re: Moving out

Good looking aged effects on the pics! It's too bad that the falling snow doesn't show up well. It felt like that seen in Patton where they're racing to Bastogne.

I know what you mean about gloved hands: I've scrimped and saved for years and still haven't equipped all my guys with them. Maybe that's why I've been bashing PTO figures lately; less need for gloves in the South Pacific! In terms of a solution, maybe take some older hands like 21st, Hasbro or Gearbox and paint them?

Re: Moving out

The falling snow didn't show up in the color pics either. I can add snow later using CS4.

Great pics john. I really like the one with the sun coming through the trees!

Re: Moving out

Thanks again guys, I had to do something with the sun in the back ground. The lighting in my back yard is incandescent spotlights and in photos gives an orange/yellow hue even when I use the flash. You can see it in the color photos and it's very had to match a back ground with the foreground so I saw the winter pic with an orange hue and because the light in my yard was coming from the back it was perfect adding the pic with the sun as a background. Next batch of pics I do will be during the day when it's all natural and bright enough so no large flash is necessary but a small fill flash can help bring out the stuff that would have too much shadow.

Re: Moving out

Here is one more pic I managed to get out of the lot of pics. I should have used both my cameras it seems like my less expensive Fuji point and shoot does better pics than my Nikon DSLR that cost 5 times as much! LOL

I am still going to go thru what I have and see what I can save and use.

Added another pic.

Re: Moving out

Good to see my Red Ball Express driver gets an appearance! When I was putting my figures back; I realized that I forgot to bring one of my winter guys outside for the pics. Ah well. That last pic looks great! It looks like they are heading out along down a narrow lane, wary of potential ambushes. My staff officers were valiant enough to volunteer to stand point! LOL

Re: Moving out

I am sure there will be more chances at pics. I am going to work on putting some more figures together.

Re: Moving out

The snow on the ground and on the trees looks really good. But what I like most is the sun in the first photo--makes it appear authentically cold, something hard to capture in a photo. Well done.
