My Vietnam Collection

Hey guys, long time no see!! Well, for the past couple years I find my interest has switched from WWII (my parent's war) to Vietnam (my generation's war). I actually just realized that I've been working on these guys for 2 years now. Slow and steady progress, made slower by dwindling supplies. It would be virtually impossible to assemble these figures if you started now. A shame, really. Anyway, may I present....

^ Fire Team 1. I have weapons for all these troops but it was too hard to fit them all into the limited space holding rifles.
L to R they are: rifleman, M60 gunner, sargeant, RTO, rifleman.

^ Fire Team 2.
L to R: grenadier, rifleman, medic, rifleman, rifleman.

^ Brutha's be chillin back at the firebase.

^ Miscellaneous figures including an F4 pilot, two chopper pilots and a journalist.

^ VC and some civilians....... or are they???

Thanks for looking!!

Re: My Vietnam Collection

Really, really nice. I see guys there that I served with! Not a fart in the pack. My only little suggestion would be to get some real-looking Vietnamese. Most of the Asian figures (other than the kid and the woman) look Chinese.

Thanks a lot Sourdoh!!

I wish I could get some Vietnamese characters - I'm limited to what has been produced, which to date has been famous Chinese actors.

Re: My Vietnam Collection

Val, these are so cool. Your US troops really look authentic. It is hard to find appropriate asian head sculpts. I've had this same problem with doing Japanese soldiers. Still your VC are kitted out so beautifully that in a jungle photo shoot they are going to look number one.

Re: My Vietnam Collection

After spending 2 years of my life in Asia, I was able to tell Koreans from Chinese and both from Vietnamese but after all that time, they all look alike and your collection is great.

BTW - At a recent meeting with our Defense head with his counter head in China, Vietnam was discussed. The Chinese guy said he knew our guy had been in VN and he had served in VN a mile or so from our guy.

Never heard that Chinese "volunteers" served with the North Vietnamese forces in the south.

My point is that it would be appropriate for a Chinese looking guy to be mixed in with the Cong guys.

I assume you mean the shirtless guy? That's Enterbay's Bruce Lee RM-X body.
