• Pardon the dust while the boys rebuild the site.

The board will be in a state of disarray as I get things sorted out, for a little while at least.

The new incarnation is using Xenforo as the system software. It is much like what we are used to, with a few differences. I will see about making a FAQ to help point out the differences for the members.

One IMPORTANT difference for all of us old timers is that the 'mail' system is replaced with what are called 'conversations'/

There is no 'Inbox' or 'Out box' or 'Sent' folders anymore.

Think of Conversations as private 'threads' or topics that don't exist in a forum, that you start with another member. NOTE: Conversations can include more than one member if you or someone else in the conversaion, likes.
Takes a little getting used to but I am sure you all can get a hang of it.

Only a slightly modified default default Xenforo style is available for now. Once the new SAG style is ready it will be available.

All existing users should be able to login with their usernames and passwords once the site goes up.

If anyone has difficulties logging in please contact me at sixthvanguard@gmail.com.

Thank you for your support and patience. I know it has been a loooong road.

New Vonabt shoot - WWII Op Varsity, British & US Airborne stand togther

Hi All,
Our latest shoot is up, just a small one to get us through the winter months.:)

http://www.vonabt.co.uk/dios/paraHQ/index.html

Just to give a bit of background, it's a shoot I never thought I would see happen as it involved having to redo every single glider troop that was cobbled together quickly for the Peg Bridge shoot many years ago. That task was so painful and tedious back then that the paras have been sitting in a tub for years. (I can't think of any other WWII figure that requires so much tinkering, replacement berets, recut puttees, repaint webbing, cut the boots down etc) all stuff that seems small when your building one of two but a pain in large numbers.

All that changed when I won a Airborne Howitzer a while back on ebay. It gave me drive to look at them again and then Peter knocked one out of the park by building a 1:6th scaled up version of the old Airfix 1:72 command post which I used to love when I was a kid.

Anyway I'm going to stop before I start rambling on about Action Man British Paras being my favorite all those years ago etc etc

As always full shoot can be seen here

And we enjoy your feedback as always (unless its why there not more paras!!)

Spectacular as always! I envy your get togethers and photo shoots. It's been ages since I got together with some like minded friends for a shoot.

Nice as always, with little surprises along the way that really make it a treat. I always like the Behind-the-Scenes shots. Peter sleeping is priceless!

This is a great dio! There are so many little details, lots to see. The group of men together in the room as they discuss is a great little setting. The capturing of the german and radio is well done too! I can't imagine the work that went into this but I certainly will enjoy looking at this over and over. :!:

This group of 1/6 collectors has set the bar for all to strive for. It is always fun to see what they do next and the scope of the dio's they create leaves a HUGE impression.
