• Pardon the dust while the boys rebuild the site.

The board will be in a state of disarray as I get things sorted out, for a little while at least.

The new incarnation is using Xenforo as the system software. It is much like what we are used to, with a few differences. I will see about making a FAQ to help point out the differences for the members.

One IMPORTANT difference for all of us old timers is that the 'mail' system is replaced with what are called 'conversations'/

There is no 'Inbox' or 'Out box' or 'Sent' folders anymore.

Think of Conversations as private 'threads' or topics that don't exist in a forum, that you start with another member. NOTE: Conversations can include more than one member if you or someone else in the conversaion, likes.
Takes a little getting used to but I am sure you all can get a hang of it.

Only a slightly modified default default Xenforo style is available for now. Once the new SAG style is ready it will be available.

All existing users should be able to login with their usernames and passwords once the site goes up.

If anyone has difficulties logging in please contact me at sixthvanguard@gmail.com.

Thank you for your support and patience. I know it has been a loooong road.

Normandy Pathfinder camo question

I am wanting to paint one of my reinforced uniforms to use for 82nd pathfinder. Was ther any set color the Pathfinders used to paint the camo? I have a good picture in my D-day paratroopers - The americans book and the color looks like brown and a shade of green. Is Tamiya acrylics OK to use on cloth?

I know that Tom Sawyer asked this same question and some color photos were provided earlier this year. Just use the search function, m42 painted camo and you should find it. If I remember correctly the color photos are very nice.
You're on the right track, choosing the right paint is important. I would also be tempted to use Tamiya acrylics mostly becuase I use them for everything. They are safe for cloth.

I have used Tamiya acrylics with great success. As Tim mentioned, there are lots of posts concerning this. Just do a good search, but to get you started here a couple I dug up for ya:

One of my figures that I applied camo to:

And a couple others that were brought up in conversations:

Great , those pics and info help quite a bit. I will try this. Some of the pics I have seen have a lighter green and some have a different shade green and almost black I suppose.
