• Pardon the dust while the boys rebuild the site.

The board will be in a state of disarray as I get things sorted out, for a little while at least.

The new incarnation is using Xenforo as the system software. It is much like what we are used to, with a few differences. I will see about making a FAQ to help point out the differences for the members.

One IMPORTANT difference for all of us old timers is that the 'mail' system is replaced with what are called 'conversations'/

There is no 'Inbox' or 'Out box' or 'Sent' folders anymore.

Think of Conversations as private 'threads' or topics that don't exist in a forum, that you start with another member. NOTE: Conversations can include more than one member if you or someone else in the conversaion, likes.
Takes a little getting used to but I am sure you all can get a hang of it.

Only a slightly modified default default Xenforo style is available for now. Once the new SAG style is ready it will be available.

All existing users should be able to login with their usernames and passwords once the site goes up.

If anyone has difficulties logging in please contact me at sixthvanguard@gmail.com.

Thank you for your support and patience. I know it has been a loooong road.

Where to get helmet from Star Wars Trooper figure?

chunks

Rifleman
Can anyone suggest where/how to get the helmet from the Sideshow Toys Capt. Antilles or Trooper figure? Other then buy the full figure, of course.

The original Star Wars prop was based on a USN helmet used to provide protection while still using the "sound powered microphone", era unknown. It's the last item I'm still looking for to complete my 40mm bofers display.

Thanks in Advance.

Chunks, my suggestion would be to make one yourself. The Star Wars version has a tapered rear that is way too long for what you need. I would look for a ping pong ball, fishing bobber or something about the right size that is round and hollow.

I dug these pic's up searching under "talker USN" and I hope they will help you out. There seem to be several types of headsets and microphones so I only snagged a few of them not knowing which you want to build. As you can see also the helmet is basically a ball and not much else to it.

HOLY COW BATMAN!!! Thanks very much!! You've also make it much easier to cobble together the mic with what I have available. For one thing the earphones are more like what I have now. Not a small thing. Thanks much for this.

Wait till Easter ....check out the fat rounded end of those plastic eggs ( right head size) and make your own..if you screw up start another one.... they are cheap. Once you perfect it..then you can make me one
