• Pardon the dust while the boys rebuild the site.

The board will be in a state of disarray as I get things sorted out, for a little while at least.

The new incarnation is using Xenforo as the system software. It is much like what we are used to, with a few differences. I will see about making a FAQ to help point out the differences for the members.

One IMPORTANT difference for all of us old timers is that the 'mail' system is replaced with what are called 'conversations'/

There is no 'Inbox' or 'Out box' or 'Sent' folders anymore.

Think of Conversations as private 'threads' or topics that don't exist in a forum, that you start with another member. NOTE: Conversations can include more than one member if you or someone else in the conversaion, likes.
Takes a little getting used to but I am sure you all can get a hang of it.

Only a slightly modified default default Xenforo style is available for now. Once the new SAG style is ready it will be available.

All existing users should be able to login with their usernames and passwords once the site goes up.

If anyone has difficulties logging in please contact me at sixthvanguard@gmail.com.

Thank you for your support and patience. I know it has been a loooong road.

    South Pacific Assault, Part I

Thanks! We'll probably do another exercise sometime in the next few weeks, picking up where this one left off. We still need to go over the basics of defensive fighting positions and how to repulse a Banzai attack. Essentials for the jungle warfare in the South Pacific. Here are a few more...

    South Pacific Assault, Part I

My Dad was a longtime member here who went by the name USMCPrice. I've been a member a while, but have mostly been a lurker, never posting much. Back in 2009, Dad enlisted my brother and I to build a battlefield for a huge Pacific theater battle using his collection of 1/6 scale Marines. The...

    Longtime Member, USMCPrice

I’m sorry to post that my Dad, longtime member USMCPrice, passed away on October 31st. I know he had a lot of friends on here so I just wanted to let you know. He was a wealth of knowledge, especially when it came to Marine Corps history, and was a lifelong 1/6 scale enthusiast (something he...

So does that mean we can’t post any photos or just avatars? Is the only way to post an image through third party image hosting?

    1/6 diamond plating

Thanks for the suggestion. I took a look over there and they have a 1/16 sheet of diamond plate that might do the trick. I went to the link pp provided and it looks great but $60 is kind of steep for the amount I am going to need. So, if 1/24 was a good match am I wrong in assuming that 1/16...

I keep getting a file failed to upload message. Any idea what’s going on? The image is appropriately sized.
