• Pardon the dust while the boys rebuild the site.

The board will be in a state of disarray as I get things sorted out, for a little while at least.

The new incarnation is using Xenforo as the system software. It is much like what we are used to, with a few differences. I will see about making a FAQ to help point out the differences for the members.

One IMPORTANT difference for all of us old timers is that the 'mail' system is replaced with what are called 'conversations'/

There is no 'Inbox' or 'Out box' or 'Sent' folders anymore.

Think of Conversations as private 'threads' or topics that don't exist in a forum, that you start with another member. NOTE: Conversations can include more than one member if you or someone else in the conversaion, likes.
Takes a little getting used to but I am sure you all can get a hang of it.

Only a slightly modified default default Xenforo style is available for now. Once the new SAG style is ready it will be available.

All existing users should be able to login with their usernames and passwords once the site goes up.

If anyone has difficulties logging in please contact me at sixthvanguard@gmail.com.

Thank you for your support and patience. I know it has been a loooong road.

    Looking for a groundwork picture

There are probably a dozen alternatives to keep the real leaves fresh. I use to use the watered down white glue when I was into model railroading and even later for dio bases. I haven't had anytime for the hobby in the last few years and I am trying to remember all the different options I have...

    Looking for a groundwork picture

I never used paper just the real leaves and faux leaves they sell at the craft stores. If you can score those floral pieces I found they are the best. Many years ago there was a company that made fall garland that also had 1/6th scale sized leaves they came out every season in different color...

    Looking for a groundwork picture

Some one let me know about your question so I popped on to give you my take. I found some stuff at Micheal's a few years back. They were out in the fall it was some faux 1/6 scale size branches with 1/6th size leaves. I know I posted something I'll add a link if I can find it. I also made leaves...

    Mike Stannard - Rest Well

So sorry to hear of Mike's passing! :( It's too bad so many of us have to go at an early age. Mike loved the hobby and it seems to me even in his last little bit of time here he was thinking of the buddies/customers he made in the hobby. This will leave a big hole in the hobby and the loss of a...

    Western Mass meet and greet

Squidley, I never left the hobby really, just don't have any free time these days to pop by and go thru the posts on the forums. I keep up on the new figures and try and grab what's new but I don't even have time to open them. Now that one house project is done and we haven't found another to...

You have got to be kidding me!

I checked it out and it was removed by the seller for errors in the listing. He probably screwed up and added too many 000s. I'll bet it gets listed at $28.00 still a little high for a nude Elsa I got a few boxed for $15.00 ea. O popped the heads off and swapped them with better sculpts dressed...

    ECA impostor Counterfeiter scam alert!

That sucks! Have you seen any of his parts, are they really bad copies? I never have the free time to go to shows these days so I doubt i would run into him. Hope someone snaps a pic of the guy and posts it so we know who to stay clear of!

Sad News in the 1/6th World

Haven't been on the group in a while and the first thing I see is bad news. Charlie is a great asset to the hobby, always had some great stuff to say and post. I hope he is capable of having a full recovery! My well wishes go out to his family and friends.

Beware! I am not selling any 1/6th!!!!!

I wanted to warn you guys I found out some one has been using my pics and name to try and sell stuff to a couple people I know overseas. So far I don't think this has happened in the US. They haven't hacked my accounts like last time but just to be sure I changed all my passwords on my...

    1/6th metal chain?

The company my cousin used to deal with is out of business or at least the web page is long gone. She sent me a few links to other suppliers but they don't have anything we could use for 1/6th heavy chain. I did notice some cheesy over sized Halloween stuff at I party or what ever it is called...

    Growing motor pool.

Unfortunately the biggest problem with collecting 1/6th is that it is big and you need room, lots of room. I have to keep my stuff in 4 places. Here at home, most of my friends basement, another friends whole attic and a 12 x 10 storage unit! I haven't stopped buying! One of the reasons I build...

    1/6th metal chain?

Chain can be a variety of sizes depending on what they use it for I usually take a guess at the right size. Say if there is 10 links per foot on the 1:1 chain I get something that has 10 links in 2". I have had my best luck buying chain from wholesale costume jewelry suppliers or the craft...

    Cardboard Lambonirghi

These days with 3D printing and cutting I am sure we will see more and more of stuff like this. W.W.II German vehicles would be a perfect model for a process like this. Mostly angular with no complex curves! Some one is building a 1:1 69 Mustang out of paper. Jonathan Brand I don't know how...
