• Pardon the dust while the boys rebuild the site.

The board will be in a state of disarray as I get things sorted out, for a little while at least.

The new incarnation is using Xenforo as the system software. It is much like what we are used to, with a few differences. I will see about making a FAQ to help point out the differences for the members.

One IMPORTANT difference for all of us old timers is that the 'mail' system is replaced with what are called 'conversations'/

There is no 'Inbox' or 'Out box' or 'Sent' folders anymore.

Think of Conversations as private 'threads' or topics that don't exist in a forum, that you start with another member. NOTE: Conversations can include more than one member if you or someone else in the conversaion, likes.
Takes a little getting used to but I am sure you all can get a hang of it.

Only a slightly modified default default Xenforo style is available for now. Once the new SAG style is ready it will be available.

All existing users should be able to login with their usernames and passwords once the site goes up.

If anyone has difficulties logging in please contact me at sixthvanguard@gmail.com.

Thank you for your support and patience. I know it has been a loooong road.

I'd also be interested in where you got the tracks. I found a German site that listed Hetzer parts by Gieswerk but nothing on 250 undercarriage. Cheers Allan

Love it! It has life! A beast of a weapon and you should be well pleased. Thanks for sharing. Allan

    Starting that 2 Cm flak

Bob, the rings are just part of the Schwebekreisvisier kit and are stored in the sight's transport case. The sight was only mounted on the weapon when emplaced. Generally this case would have been stored in either the Sd.Anh.52 trailer or on the platform of vehicles such as the Sd.Kfz.7/2...

    1/6 scale tread plate?

Hi Hammer, Assuming that you're buying the 1/16 scale product, do you have a photo as a scale comparison? Cheers Allan

    1/6 scale tread plate?

Thanks for the link Dutchman! There's a great range on there. Have you dealt with them before?

What number to go from 1/35 scale to 1/6?

What are you working on Jeff? As xacto suggested, making your own drawings can be a good way of proofing your dimensions. Particularly if you're working from photos or drawings that aren't a complete representation of the subject.

What number to go from 1/35 scale to 1/6?

I don't think that it pays to rely on a '1/35 Drawing' to actually be 1/35. There's quite a few contributing factors that can alter an image's scale during the pre-press and printing process that can skew the finished product. It would seem to be over complicating the process by trying to make...

Thank you Kapernakis, and you're absolutely right. Pretty pictures always garner a better response. Cheers Allan

    Anyone who has DML's Jaboschrek

Hey Jeff, I was hoping that someone here might've had the Cyber Hobby Jaboschrek and give me a quick answer. Obviously not! The blog on ipms.de about detailing this kit answered my question. As I suspected, DML only provided average approximation of the modifications to the cradle (lower right...

    Anyone who has DML's Jaboschrek

I'm 'remodelling' the prebuilt 2cm Flak 38 to turn into a Production version of the 3cm Flak 103/38 and whilst putting together plans for the bearings and cradle I've encountered a fairly large issue. The original drawings of the Mk 103 that I'm working off give me an overall width of the...

Has anyone on this forum ever built Panther tank bunkers?

Slow down mate! Panther and Tiger II hulls are completely different. Can I suggest that you spend a little time researching the vehicles that you're interested in a little more than asking a few random questions on a forum that doesn't specialize in this kind of thing.

Has anyone on this forum ever built Panther tank bunkers?

With the intention of using my PzII hull as a foundation for a Wespe, this has always been my goal for the turret. It's a nice way to include details that would be difficult to enjoy any other way. Panzer tracts 21-2 is dedicated to Pantherturms. There's actually a few As and Ds in there that...

    Mardon 222 upgrade

There really is no comparison between your project and the 222 that Armourguy is building. In my mind, you started off with a very basic toylike foundation and have given it a whole lotta life. A more difficult task in most instances.

    Mardon 222 upgrade

Jeff, I reckon you worked wonders on it and should be well pleased with the results. It probably wouldn't take too much to fix up the gun mount if you ever felt inclined, as it's obviously not outside your abilities. Thanks for sharing Allan

New product prototype: WW2 ML3 British mortar

Awesome little project! Here's mine! Here's the sight if you need reference. It's the Australian made one but would be the same as that pictured in the top photo.

    17 Pdr Anti Tank Gun

Loving it Dave! A little frustrating though that you fork all that money and it's missing so much. God only knows where you get the time to build all this stuff but I certainly enjoy watching them come together. Cheers Allan

    Flakvierling Build

Don't know how I missed your Pak 38 build. It came up great. Yet another kit that I have sitting in the workshop awaiting attention. If you're interested in understanding the fundamentals of a lot of the painting and weathering techniques, have a look at Weathering Magazine. I also found Tank...

    Ford FGT

Love it! Did a walkaround of a radio model of one of these years ago, with the intention of building one, but it's way too far down the list of priorities. Great to see someone do one though. Cheers Allan
