• Pardon the dust while the boys rebuild the site.

    The board will be in a state of disarray as I get things sorted out, for a little while at least.

    The new incarnation is using Xenforo as the system software. It is much like what we are used to, with a few differences. I will see about making a FAQ to help point out the differences for the members.

     

    One IMPORTANT difference for all of us old timers is that the 'mail' system is replaced with what are called 'conversations'/

    There is no 'Inbox' or 'Out box' or 'Sent' folders anymore.

    Think of Conversations as private 'threads' or topics that don't exist in a forum, that you start with another member. NOTE: Conversations can include more than one member if you or someone else in the conversaion, likes.
    Takes a little getting used to but I am sure you all can get a hang of it.

     

    Only a slightly modified default default Xenforo style is available for now. Once the new SAG style is ready it will be available.

    All existing users should be able to login with their usernames and passwords once the site goes up.

This Halftrack is a recon/ support vehicle for Schw. Pz. Abt-502. This halftrack features a heavily customized interior and exterior. All of the halftrack's components were scratch built. I plan on getting a radio and Notek light from panzerwerks in the near future.

The Interior features

1. Diamond plate floorboards
2. Front seats are scratch built out of Brass and wire
3. Scratch built steering column and moved steering wheel to correct location..
4. Extended floor boards in the driver and passenger sections
5. Metal gas, brake, and clutch pedals
6. Scratch built fuse and relay boxes.
7. Metal transmission floor guards,
8. Scratch built transmission,
9. Metal stick shift cluster.
10. Scratch built instrument panel, and dashboard
11. Detailed lower portion of the interior side walls with 2 types of riveting
12. Increased detail on visor ports.
13. Scratch built rear bench, with riveted style seat pad
14. Scratch built rear locker
15. Metal functional rifle racks, with prototypical rifle butt inlets
16. Head rests on the ceiling of the driver, and passenger roof
17. Metal rear chair
18. Upholstered seat pads
19. Metal spare window holders
20. Windows on all of the visors
21. Wooden impact strip added to rifle rack muzzle guard
22. Metal radio cage
23. First aid Kit mounts
24. Metal rear hatch latch mechanism

10. Improved grillwork
11. Metal exhaust cover including louvers.
12. Metal lane markers and lane indicators with real mirror

16. Key hole cover on all hatches
17. Added taillights.
18. Wooden handles on all tools

The model's paint and markings circa 1942. and are based off of a Kharkov pattern.
All of the model's markings are painted on and are not decals.

When I originally started on this project I did not intend to over detail it. But after viewing the 250 on Vince Abbot's Gallery I was way too inspired and one thing led to another.

I also loved this 250. The unit is one of my favorites, the details are amazing and the paint job is fantastic. Love the streaking effect.
This was a tough contest. There were fewer entries than I expected as I thought the unbelievable prize list would bring out at least 20 entries at the wire...but the level of detail of those that did enter the contest made it a very tough competition.
