Re: Must-Have Blu-ray BD discs*

"Band of Brothers" and "Saving Private Ryan" are both excellent choices on Blu-Ray.

"The Pacific" (which was made by the same folks as Band of Brothers) is also a good choice, though not quite as good as BoB.

If you're not limiting yourself to WW2 Blu-Rays, I'd recommend "Black Hawk Down". The audio quality on the BHD Blu-Ray is absolutely amazing, if you have a home theater setup that is capable of doing it justice. It really adds to the immersion. It's my favorite film to crank up the sound and rattle some windows.

"We Were Soldiers" and "Tears of the Sun" are worth checking out on Blu-Ray as well, though the quality isn't as good as the SPR, BoB, or BHD Blu-Rays.

For a modern war film, check out "The Hurt Locker" on Blu-Ray. And for a modern war film with a sci-fi twist, grab the Blu-Ray of "Battle: Los Angeles".

For a war movie set in the medieval world, check out the Blu-Ray of "Kingdom of Heaven".

And for fantasy films with a heavy dose of war movie action, the Blu-Rays of "300" and "Lord of the Rings" are both excellent.

Definitely getting Braveheart.. not historically correct but still entertaining..
Love Mels work but We Were Soldiers didnt quite work for me..
Tears of the Sun good flick.. love Monica Bellucci!
Hurt Locker was great
Battle: Los Angeles.. ill have to look into..
Kingdom of Heaven.. was on the fence about this one..
300.. was fantastic - might have to get it
Lord of the Rings - Extended Edition with only 15 (6 BDs, 9 DVDs) discs! is a must
I do love the old epics - EL CID is on order also
