• Pardon the dust while the boys rebuild the site.

The board will be in a state of disarray as I get things sorted out, for a little while at least.

The new incarnation is using Xenforo as the system software. It is much like what we are used to, with a few differences. I will see about making a FAQ to help point out the differences for the members.

One IMPORTANT difference for all of us old timers is that the 'mail' system is replaced with what are called 'conversations'/

There is no 'Inbox' or 'Out box' or 'Sent' folders anymore.

Think of Conversations as private 'threads' or topics that don't exist in a forum, that you start with another member. NOTE: Conversations can include more than one member if you or someone else in the conversaion, likes.
Takes a little getting used to but I am sure you all can get a hang of it.

Only a slightly modified default default Xenforo style is available for now. Once the new SAG style is ready it will be available.

All existing users should be able to login with their usernames and passwords once the site goes up.

If anyone has difficulties logging in please contact me at sixthvanguard@gmail.com.

Thank you for your support and patience. I know it has been a loooong road.

Backyard Battle #8

OGRE

Mortarman
I finally got around to doing my latest Backyard Battle. After a lengthy renovation of my 1/6 Scale village which is slowly rotting away outside I added a length of railroad tracks. I had planned to build a railroad depot but ran out of time. Two of my old buildings were moved and painted and the old Tank shed thrown away. All of my British units except the Airborne were in play although the Armored cars got little camera time. Here is a link to my photobucket page.

There are 107 pictures showing the whole battle on my website below. Just follow the "Backyard Battle" Tab.
Hope you enjoy. It was a 9 hour day to produce this. It was a lot of fun but took me a few days to recover. Not getting any younger you know!

Looks like a great time had! I envy your space!!!! I love seeing all the vehicles that you have built in addition to the buildings! Such great stuff!!

What a throwback, OGRE!

Reminds me of the huge photoshoots people used to do back in the golden era of the hobby! Hell - that's what really hooked me - seening people take their stuff outside and set up photo shoots.

Nice job on all the vehicles. Some amazing pieces there for sure!

The effects were good too - both flames and the smoke!

Absolutely fantastic. Great job. Smoke n fire are awesome. I agree with Fred, this is the kind of post that attracted me to the forum in the first place. Thanks for sharing.

Great display all around! So many awesome AFV's, the Churchill is incrediable. The action scenes are well done with great effects. 9 hours of well done action. To cool.

OGRE,
Looks like a great time. You have a fantastic vehicle collection. Really like the Firefly, Churchhill and Cromwell. Nice photo shoot.

Thank you all. Took me 4 days to recuperate where my legs didn't ache. Once a year for a big shoot is enough. Already planning next year. A cross between FURY plus 3 different Tank Destroyers.
