• Pardon the dust while the boys rebuild the site.

The board will be in a state of disarray as I get things sorted out, for a little while at least.

The new incarnation is using Xenforo as the system software. It is much like what we are used to, with a few differences. I will see about making a FAQ to help point out the differences for the members.

One IMPORTANT difference for all of us old timers is that the 'mail' system is replaced with what are called 'conversations'/

There is no 'Inbox' or 'Out box' or 'Sent' folders anymore.

Think of Conversations as private 'threads' or topics that don't exist in a forum, that you start with another member. NOTE: Conversations can include more than one member if you or someone else in the conversaion, likes.
Takes a little getting used to but I am sure you all can get a hang of it.

Only a slightly modified default default Xenforo style is available for now. Once the new SAG style is ready it will be available.

All existing users should be able to login with their usernames and passwords once the site goes up.

If anyone has difficulties logging in please contact me at sixthvanguard@gmail.com.

Thank you for your support and patience. I know it has been a loooong road.

I apologize, since this guy doesn't seem to be a 1/6th board member, but I wanted to give everyone a warning, since many of you on Ebay:

Warning: Although he appears to have 100% positive feedback, this guy has been harassing me via email for the last 48 hours or so.

He won three of my auctions that required payment within 24 hrs - no exceptions. He asked to have the first one cancelled, because he failed to read the auction, which I do not do - all of my auctions are As-is & final - no exceptions.

He then asks me to cancel the auction or he won't pay for the other two auctions. Then he starts using profanity in emails & threatening negative feedback if I don't take $10 off the auction he previously asked to be cancelled. I said no and that he was approaching the 24 hr deadline and that I would have to escalate. At the 24 hr deadline, I emailed him again that I was cancelling the auctions, blocking him, and reporting him, and I post in y auctions that I will warn others on the 1/6th boards as well. Since then, I've received a couple of other threatening emails.

He has been reported for multiple policy violations, refusing to pay for a winning auction, and online threats. He then turned around and left me my first negative feedback in 15 years on ebay.

I have all documentation/emails if anyone runs into a situation with him.

Just an FYI.

Thanks for the notice.

Out of interest: assuming he used Ebay messages, won't it be possible to request Ebay to review the case and remove the negative feedback?

I'd contact eBay via telephone for this particular situation. If you speak with someone they really will do the right thing most of the time. You'll have to forward your massages but that's about it.
Sorry about your miserable experience on the Bay. I've had a few over the years and they're never fun. But you do have recourse.

Hopefully. I have retained everything and definitely submitted to have the feedback removed. I have also forwarded everything to Ebay and continue to forward the messages he sends.

If they don't, oh well - his gibberish comments he left me illustrates him perfectly. It will hurt his 'reputation' more than his neg's will hurt my selling to anyone with a brain.

PS - I joked with Mike (mfenchak) that I lost my eBay virginity.

Dave, you must have posted when I wrote the prev. message.

Thanks for the words - I'll give it another couple of days and then give them a call. I've asked them to block him from PM'ing me, which he can still do, even as a blocked buyer (which makes no sense). If anything escalates, then I will certainly give them a ring.

Just an update, no luck yet. And I've seen people here in 1/6th world still dealing with him.

I just got off a half hour phone call and promised to receive a callback in 24 hrs. I've submitted multiple reports on this guy and all the nasty emails he sent me.

I think in this case , they will remove the feedback , however next time follow Ebay rules to the letter , when he does not pay , file an non paying bidder claim , dont cancel the auction , if he then pays , finish the transaction and ship with tracking , document everything , never converse outside of ebays messaging so they can see everything .

I have had several almost exactly as you describe , I call them and they look at everything and have had 3 Negatives removed immediately from buyers who seem to lack the ability to read , you may have to call ebay back to get someone who knows what they are doing , or ask for a feedback specialist , yes they have them ,or did LOL , they change stuff so much .

You should get it removed . dont give up .

Thanks Steve. I have talked to two people so far and they were not helpful. I asked to be escalated and the girl asked "To who?" and I said "you're certainly not the VP of Customer Relations, so there must be someone higher"...and of course they were "busy", so I have a case # to follow up with and got an email yesterday that they tried to call (but they didn't leave a message of course, either).

What's funny is that I crossed two orders - those people could have absolutely left me neutral or neg. feedback, but they didn't. I asked the second rep I got why he even is allowed to leave feedback when there was no transaction? That stumped her.

Buyers like this give eBay a bad name for sellers. Given how you described his feedback as gibberish, I'm surprised he even got passed the registration. Sorry to hear about your experience. I almost had a run in with this buyer on an auction. Thankfully someone outbid him.
