Greetings gentleman. Sit right back and you'll hear the tale, the tale of a fateful trip. Oh, wait, wrong story.
My name's Erik Von Rader (yes, I am named after my relative Erich Von Raeder, GrosAdmiral of the German Navy), I'm 39 (turning 40 next month) and I live in the high desert of California (about 1 1/2 hours from Panzerwerk, who lives just around the corner from my in-laws in Lancaster).
I'm employed at the Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division China Lake (formerly the Naval Weapons Center) as a Business Systems Analyst, GS-12. I spent 4 years on active duty in the Navy aboard USS TRIPOLI (LPH 10), and another 5 years as a reservist with the 31st Naval Construction Regiment.
My focus is mainly post-colonial and Cold War, with a sprinkling of WWII, modern and fantasy figures thrown in. I've been collecting and kitbashing since 2003, when I was diagnosed with a medical condition that prevents me from enjoying most of my outdoor pasttimes.
