• Pardon the dust while the boys rebuild the site.

The board will be in a state of disarray as I get things sorted out, for a little while at least.

The new incarnation is using Xenforo as the system software. It is much like what we are used to, with a few differences. I will see about making a FAQ to help point out the differences for the members.

One IMPORTANT difference for all of us old timers is that the 'mail' system is replaced with what are called 'conversations'/

There is no 'Inbox' or 'Out box' or 'Sent' folders anymore.

Think of Conversations as private 'threads' or topics that don't exist in a forum, that you start with another member. NOTE: Conversations can include more than one member if you or someone else in the conversaion, likes.
Takes a little getting used to but I am sure you all can get a hang of it.

Only a slightly modified default default Xenforo style is available for now. Once the new SAG style is ready it will be available.

All existing users should be able to login with their usernames and passwords once the site goes up.

If anyone has difficulties logging in please contact me at sixthvanguard@gmail.com.

Thank you for your support and patience. I know it has been a loooong road.

Making my 3D designs available on Cults

Market Garden

Marksman
My love of the Dragon Model 1/6th scale kits and what they were missing, created a desire to produce detail items for them. With the rise in popularity of 3D printing, and my membership in the local Make It community, I started learning 3D design.

Over the years I have developed models to add to the Dragon Model Kits, mostly the Kettenkrad and the M4A3 Sherman. I recently created an account at Cults

where I am offering my models. I hope you visit sometime and check out what I have made so far. I have many more in the works, that I am tweaking so they all fit together well. In the end, I hope to have a full interior for the Sherman tank, as well as a full engine and exhaust system for the Kettenkrad.

Thanks!

Mark

Sherman Hull ventilator (rotated upside down for printing, mounts to the roof of the hull between driver and hull gunner). Note the hole on this side of the electrical box is for the power supply to the fan motor, the one on the other side supplies power to the hull gunner's interior (dome) light.

Kettenkrad Intake/Exhaust manifold (a devil for me to design, but great for learning 3D) *

I am not quite that talented, track links at this point are a "bridge too far."

I hope to get there, but after I finish the Sherman and Kettenkrad.

Leonard the best RC links for the Dragon Sherman are the Spyker tracks. They are light and very strong, but expensive. They are Delrin which is one of the best plastic materials for tracks. He sells the STL files so you could print them yourself for cheaper probably. Its possible to modify the stock tracks, but this is ton of work and will be weaker as the Styrene end connectors will stretch/yield. I think Lorenzo Jalaber (sp?) on Ytube did a vid how to modify the stock tracks for RC into workable tracks..

Market Garden - thanks for your work on the detail parts! These kits are fun, I'd like to make an RC conversion of the Kettenkrad someday.

Checked with Spyker Workshop and they do have a very nice set of Sherman track. Sent an inquiry and received a response that he is too busy producing the mini snow blower units and will not make any Sherman track until the spring / summer. Will check back with him then.
