• Pardon the dust while the boys rebuild the site.

The board will be in a state of disarray as I get things sorted out, for a little while at least.

The new incarnation is using Xenforo as the system software. It is much like what we are used to, with a few differences. I will see about making a FAQ to help point out the differences for the members.

One IMPORTANT difference for all of us old timers is that the 'mail' system is replaced with what are called 'conversations'/

There is no 'Inbox' or 'Out box' or 'Sent' folders anymore.

Think of Conversations as private 'threads' or topics that don't exist in a forum, that you start with another member. NOTE: Conversations can include more than one member if you or someone else in the conversaion, likes.
Takes a little getting used to but I am sure you all can get a hang of it.

Only a slightly modified default default Xenforo style is available for now. Once the new SAG style is ready it will be available.

All existing users should be able to login with their usernames and passwords once the site goes up.

If anyone has difficulties logging in please contact me at sixthvanguard@gmail.com.

Thank you for your support and patience. I know it has been a loooong road.

Operation Varsity, taking place 74 years ago today (March 24th) - below are the photos of my Operation Varsity display from the SSCC's 11th Annual FIGURECON at Entertrainment Junction from over this past weekend:

Dio write-up - the 17th Airborne patch is an original and the swatch of US camo 'chute was cut from a 'chute used by the 17th Airborne from the Varsity jump.

Special Thanks to the following people:

- Josh (JOSH51st) for the gift of the original 17th Airborne patch

- Dick (Hammer Six) for loaning me the Bobby Dalto custom telephone pole from his collection for the weekend

- Jos Bex for sending me the swatch of the camo 'chute from Varsity

Just realized that those silly silver bulbs they had hanging from the ceiling, the way you photographed it in the back drop, almost look like sticks of chutes from other aircraft.

Dick, Kev, thank you!

Dick - yeah - I wasn't too happy with their presence in my photos but I like your explanation for them. Sort of a saving grace in some ways.

Thanks, guys!

Fred

Awesome work Fred (and as a sidenote...wow regards the venue...wish we had venues dedicated to 1/6th like that over here in Oz)...particularly like the way you've captured the uniqueness of airborne combat load carriage and differences. Cheers for sharing, Steve

Thank you very much, Steve!

Glad you like the photos and I appreciate you noticing the details on the figures!

Entertrainment Junction is dedicated to trains - but once a year we add a lot of 1:6th to the mix!

Thanks again for the compliments on the photos!

Fred
